Jameson 1780

Brand Campaign / Digital Experience / Social

When Jameson Whiskey came to us, they were interested in using digital to weave fans into the fabric of their brand. We created a virtual game called Jameson 1780, where fans had solve a mystery that was personalized to their social graph.

A barrel of John Jameson’s whiskey had gone missing and one of their friends was responsible. Their job was to explore 1780 Dublin, collect clues, accept challenges from the townsfolk and solve the quandary.

Interviewing the Townsfolk

Once logged in with Facebook Connect, participants navigated the streets of 18th century Dublin to track down the thieving scoundrel who stole John Jameson’s barrel of whiskey. To solve the mystery and uncover the thief's identity, players needed to traverse the city by candlelight, interviewing colorful locals for clues taken directly from the culprit's Facebook profile.

Solving the Quandary

Once all of the clues were collected, participants could attempt to guess which one of their friends was the culprit. Those able to solve the mystery could celebrate by calling out the guilty party on their Facebook wall, driving engagement back to Jameson 1780.
